There are different map views available in Google Maps. Select your desired view using the menu located in the right top corner of the map:

Map – This shows a map with a traditional depiction of roads, parks, borders, bodies of water and more.

Satellite – This shows satelite and aerial imagery. The resolution quality of this imagery is better in locations with higher population density.

Hybrid – This shows the satelite base map with basic road/street names and other information

Terrain – This shows physical elevation as shaded relief and elevation lines. It also includes basic road/street names and other information.
